Varsity Boys On Matt’s Hill at 7:30am
Monta Vista Cross Country has been rolling along! We have logged some great workouts so far this season. Most of the team has already run the first iconic MVXC ‘long’ run, Up and Over. Last Saturday, we had a nice group get together for Matador Miles. And of course, we have been doing some hill repeats, working up from the bunny hills in Linda Vista to the challenging repeats on Matt’s Hill after climbing into Fremont Older up Fire Trail.
And now…we get to race!
Many new athletes get nervous when a new race is coming. What always helps me to relax is a good checklist! When I can look at a checklist with all my items ticked off one by one, i can relax knowing that I am ready to go. I can sleep soundly!
Here is a post from MVXC alumni and former MVXC/MVTF assistant coach Matt Paquet. This has a great pre-meet checklist that you might find useful.
Let’s get ready to race!
