I think most of us have a love-hate experience with our first trip of the year up Fire Trail to Fremont Older Open Space. On the one hand, running up Fire Trail means that serious training is getting started. But…this is HARD!
The team looked strong, top to bottom, as we crested the hill towards our traditional runners’ tunnel. You all looked great, I don’t think that we have ever got to the top that fast! Then we headed off to Matt’s Hill for some excellent repeats…and again, you all looked great. You looked like you wanted to eat that hill!
Remember how you felt on Day 1 in the hills…and wait and try to compare the way you felt today to the way you feel when we run up there in October when Fire Trail is easy!
It was a special day, as always, and the view seemed more sharp and clear than ever. What a great day to be a runner!
Here are some photos, there are a few more in the gallery.
