It is easy to be nervous when we start high school as freshmen. It helps to find a community, a family we can join. For many of us, we found the cross country team (and we also were able to be competitive, and fit, and chase goals with our friends).
It will be natural to be nervous when we leave for college. It helps to find a community, a family we can join. Some of us might compete for our college team; others might join a run club or find running partners in our dorm. Finding running partners can be a way to be competitive, keep our grit, be fit and find friends in college.
And running can continue to be a way to be part of a healthy, fun, competitive (or not) community throughout our lives. I saw this great article on adult run clubs and knew I wanted to share this with all of you. I’m hoping that all of you have adventurous lives, traveling, working in exciting jobs, experiencing the world. Running can be a part of your life in many ways…and finding a running community wherever you go can be part of that adventurous life.
