Short attention span writing/reading for MVXC in the week of September 14…
Snack Shack: Thank you to all the parents and athletes who volunteered to run the snack shack during the football gave against Jefferson High School! Your efforts were appreciated by all of us…and your coach thought it was hilarious when you made side comments about the healthiness of customer choices (“Really? Soda? You could have a water, it’s better for you.”).
Varsity Boys flying through hill repeats.
Hill Repeats: Holy smokes! You all are getting so strong. The third time up to Matt’s Hill this year and almost all of you look like you have tamed that monster! The varsity boys were flying, seriously. The freshman girls looked like they wanted to eat that hill! We hope that you feel the same improvement that your coaches see since the first time you ran on Matt’s this year–you all look so strong!
Look at these athletes…how hard can this workout really be??? 🙂
A beautiful early morning in Fremont Older.
Candy Crush: Saturday threshold workouts are the best, and running Candy Crush is incredible preparation for Crystal. No one ‘owns’ Candy Crush, yet it’s so great to see athletes manage CC…to finish their reps and say, that was not as bad as I remembered/not as bad as the seniors said it would be. Such a good Saturday workout, and fun for coach too (he would admit he was wobbly the next day, you guys are fast/tough!).
Candy Crushers.
Alumni Corner. Julia Chang (MVXC15) is competing for Johns Hopkins University (and majoring in molecular biology) and was running this weekend in Manhattan…Julia reported that she ran into Steven Sum, a Saratoga High graduate now running for Princeton. Pretty cool, local runners competing for great schools!
Great week everyone! Last week and the week coming up are great training weeks to have in the bank when we come back and begin a busy couple weeks of racing…you all are doing great!
