On Friday April 5, Whole Foods of Cupertino hosted a cooking class for the Monta Vista track & field team…we had a dozen athletes come to a class focused on knife skills. Chef Jamie helped us learn to use a knife more safely, and efficiently. We learned a lot of cool knife tricks and in the process created a monster salad–that we enjoyed together with a slice of pizza!
Getting control of your own nutrition and healthy eating is a valuable skill, whether or not you are an athlete. All educated, complete humans should be able to put together a healthy meal! If you are an athlete, being self-reliant for your fuel is even more important. Plus, as you coach will attest…if you can cook, you will always have friends! My college apartment was always a fun place to gather when I was making a batch of chili or grilling something.
Thank you to Mrs. LaPlain (Isabel’s mom) for arranging this class!
Thanks for joining us, and we hope to see you at our next class!
