Welcome to MVXC18! Parents, we are glad to have you. We hope that you and your kids are excited about the new school year and the upcoming MVXC season.
Parents, mostly we just want you out there at the competitions. High school goes by so fast! Whether the kids say so or not, their athletic competitions are something they will remember in 40 years–and they will probably remember some of their XC meets with greater clarity than Honors Bio and the details of cell mitosis. And who would want to miss a sight like this:
No one, I think! So please try to make it to some of our meets.
Here are some of the other items we would like to bring to your attention…
Parent Meeting
The MVXC18 Parent Meeting will be Thursday, August 23rd in the cafeteria/student union…we will start the presentation at 6:15pm sharp so please arrive at 6 to sign in, meet the coaches, etc. We think you will get a lot out of this meeting and we hope to see you there!
Monta Vista Athletic Boosters
MVAB does so much for the cross country team; they bought bicycles for optional cross training, canopies to keep the sun off our heads, the best cooler in the world to allow us to have ice all day at a hot meet, our great looking uniforms…the list goes on. MVAB also supports our trainer and I guarantee if your young athlete runs for four years, the athlete will get to know our trainer at some point. With all the budget issues that exist, our athletic program would not look anything like it does without the MVAB.
Two thirds of your membership goes directly to your child’s cross country team, and we end up getting most of the rest of your membership back in other grants, too. Your donation is not going to support the big time sports–most of your donation stays with your athlete.
Please join MVAB right away so we have your membership recorded before the MVAB puts together the first membership report!
(We have a lot of ‘doubles’ this year so to clarify…if you have two children on the team, we would like a membership to support each athlete.)

Schedule Change
There is a downloadable schedule on this site. If you have already downloaded a copy of the schedule or transferred dates, then there is already one change. The SCVAL 1 race will now be one week later, on Tuesday September 25. The meet will be held at Lynbrook High School. You may download and print an updated copy of the schedule.
