Irina Stiasny, a physical therapist who volunteers two days a week with Monta Vista, and her company Breakthough are offering a discounted Functional Movement Screening (FMS) program to Monta Vista athletes.
FMS is a screening tool used to identify limitations in seven fundamental movement patterns that are key to functional movement quality in athletes. These movement patterns are designed to provide observable performance of basic loco motor, manipulative and stabilizing movements by placing an individual in positions where weaknesses and imbalances become noticeable. FMS is not necessarily only for people who have injuries, but can help anyone improve their ability to move efficiently, not only in athletics but in their lives.
If you are feeling some soreness or awkwardness, or just want to learn more about your body (or your child’s body), FMS can be a good tool. I know from experience it is an interesting process to go through, and Breakthrough is offering the screening at an attractive price. Also, with Irina volunteering at Monta Vista, if you get your FMS done with Breakthrough, Irina can help guide you for the rest of the season as you use what you learned.
The coupon is downloadable below, and you can talk to Irina about this also.
