Saturday, November 16 will see the best teams throughout the Central Coast Section compete–and your Monta Vista Cross Country team is part of this event!  Here is all the information…

Location: Crystal Springs Cross Country Course, 2567 Hallmark Drive, Belmont California. PLEASE when you arrive, do not double park, continue driving until you can pull to the curb, park, and then unload. Say good morning to the neighborhood residents, too!

Race Times: The Monta Vista girls will compete at 11:10 AM, the boys at 11:45 AM. I suggest that all of you arrive no later than 9:45 AM; traffic can be a bear.

What to Pack: Your uniform, your race shoes, plenty of layers for different weather conditions, extra socks, dry clothing for afterwards, water, snacks, and a positive attitude!

Spectators: I hope that many athletes, even people not competing, come to support our athletes! Bring friends who are not yet runners, too. Spectators do have to buy a ticket (though they will often wave in athletes in uniform). Tickets can be purchased in advance here.

Background, History, and Projections: Monta Vista boys and girls will be competing in D3 this year; top competitors include St. Ignatius, Sacred Heart Prep, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Hillsdale, Willow Glen (Coach Flatow’s high school team!), and Burlingame. A “championship meet projection” based on league finals results is here (all the divisions are mashed together, we are D3). The Monta Vista girls were team champions only six years ago, in 2018!

Let’s go MVXC!
