Another breakfast run is in the books, as a group got together in Rancho for another run today. Good job team!
Two weeks until we get together as a team and get our first look at MVXC17…and we should be feeling pretty strong! Start reaching out to your friends and encourage them to be ready for practice–returning athletes and also new recruits to the MVXC family. Let’s make 2017 the best season ever!

The Tsujimotos are hosting a breakfast run this weekend, however this weekend the run will be on SUNDAY July 23 and the run will start earlier, at 7am (to beat the heat!).
Please get in touch with Jason and get on this Googledoc to post the pot luck contribution you will bring (Jason and Kyle’s mom is supplying the main breakfast item I would guess!).
Have a great run this weekend! Getting together with your friends and teammates is a great way to stay motivated, run faster and simply enjoy your training more. Hard work towards a goal can be enjoyable and rewarding too.
Scroll down for a review of the 2017 breakfast runs.
See you all soon! I’m just about to start my last full week in Oregon before I head back to see you all. I really value and appreciate all of you! Keep up the great work!

The Start of Earlybird, 2012
After a week back East, the Tsujimoto brothers are going to be back and ready to host a Rancho breakfast run on Saturday, July 8. Everyone is invited–do not be shy, even if you are brand new to the team, a Saturday breakfast run is a great way to meet new teammates! ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE AN INCOMING FRESHMAN FROM KENNEDY, LAWSON OR WHEREVER, come and find out that high school is not going to be scary at all–come in the summer and get to know some sophomores, juniors and seniors and on your first days at Monta Vista, you will be the freshman who knows people who can help you find your way around! Your teammates will help you with your first runs and with your first days at school.
Come meet at 8am at the Tsujimoto house, 10537 Manzanita Ct., this Saturday. And go to this Googledoc to sign up for your pot-luck breakfast contribution!

Kingsley provided some senior leadership and stepped up to organize the third straight MVXC17 Saturday breakfast run at Rancho! Even though this is a holiday weekend, the team still had a good turnout with what sounds like a very nice run up Wildcat and down Rogue with a bit of a fast finish. An alumnus was spotted also! And the breakfast looks top shelf. An excellent day all around! Well done, everyone!
Will someone step up to organize a run on the 8th? Could be Rancho, could be another adventure. It’s great to see our team out together working together, and combining fun with the work. Our teammates help us get faster as well as remember that running is a truly fun activity!
Well done, Kingsley and team! Keep it rolling.
Happy Independence Day!

June 24:
MVXC17 had their second breakfast run, hosted by Jason and Kyle Tsujimoto, on June 24 and by all reports the run was another smashing success!
The Tsujimotos are on vacation next week so no breakfast run is currently scheduled; does anyone want to step up and keep the Saturday group run habit rolling? Who is ready to step up? If you or your group are up for leading a Saturday breakfast run…email coachflatow@gmail.com and I will advertise your run here on mvrunning!

June 17:
Saturday, June 17, Jason and Kyle Tsujimoto hosted MVXC17’s first breakfast run of the summer! A group met and had an early morning run through Rancho San Antonio Park; while MVXC has a lot of great trails not too far from MVHS, getting over to the Rancho trails is a nice change of pace for everyone. Some of coach’s favorite trails are at Rancho! After the run, the group sat outside and shared breakfast. The runners got some great training, and had a lot of fun while doing the work. What a great day!
Next weekend should be even bigger as the girls are back from their camping/bonding weekend.
Join everyone for the next breakfast run on Saturday, June 24! Meet at the Tsujimoto’s house, 10537 Manzanita Court. There are distance options for all levels of training; even if you are just getting started with your running, you can join in. Invite a friend who might be shy…let’s get everyone involved with the fun of summer running! You can contact Jason at jtsujimoto1999
