On Tuesday, September 19, Monta Vista will compete in the first league meet of the 2023 cross-country season at Baylands Regional Park. This is a full 5km race on the edge of the San Francisco Bay. For the first time this season, we will see all the other 14 teams in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League!
Here are a few items to highlight:
- A meet sheet is attached, including the schedule. Look at this and find your race! You need to arrange transportation with your parent and your teammates. We make transportation flexible so that everyone misses as little class time as possible–if we had a bus, everyone would have to leave early. This system requires some planning by the athletes, however.
- Let your 7th period teacher know you will be missing some class next week. Teachers appreciate advance notice.
- We may move a few people to different races after the De La Salle meet. Please talk to Coach Flatow if you have concerns or requests. Race placement is very flexible.
