Lagoon Valley is just a few days away! LV is going to be our first invitational of the season, just like last year. It’s a really good race! LV has some challenging hills Big Mama and Little Sister. Every good cross country course should have hills! LV is all on the dirt paths we look for in California racing. This will be our fourth visit, after 2022, 2021 and 2019. Lagoon Valley is a winner of a meet!

If you are taking the team bus, please be at the school at 5:00am. The bus leaves at 5:15am sharp and if you miss the bus, your parents will need to drive you. The bus is optional, you may have your parents drive you to the race–that’s fine!–but please be at the course early so you can warm up with your group properly–no later than 8:30am, so you can cheer for your teammates in the first race.
Do not get on the bus if you feel sick at all. We want to stay healthy as a team! And we are on the bus together for hours. If you have any COVID symptoms at all, take a rapid COVID test the night before. Free test kits are provide by the school. Let’s all do our part and do our best to keep our team healthy!
At the parent meeting, we asked everyone who will be on the bus to please join the Monta Vista Athletic Boosters and make an additional contribution to the cross country team. This additional contribution will cover the bus and other team costs–and will make the donation tax deductible (the way we did this before was not tax deductible). Joining MVAB and the additional contribution is optional but this does pay for the bus, so if you opt out, please plan on driving your children to the meet rather than use the bus.
