It is going to be incredibly hot this Labor Day Weekend, so please be careful!  Here is the plan…

  • Friday:  There will be no workout on Friday.  Coaches will be at the track to meet anyone who wants to talk about yesterday’s Watermelon Run and find some shade and get some stretching in, however there is no required organized workout on Friday.
  • Saturday:  MVXC has had our 7am workout plan approved.  There is an optional workout at 7am, meet promptly at the track.  While this workout is optional, if you are feeling motivated after the Watermelon Run, this 7am workout is critical.  Based on this weekend’s weather forecast, it will not be safe to run later in the day (and if you did get a run in, it would probably not be too valuable a workout).  And running with the group at 7am will be much more motivational (as you know).  Don’t take four days off after all the work you have done!  Let’s keep up the great momentum our team has, and let’s have a big group of athletes on Saturday morning (and Monday…)!
  • Monday:  7am workout to beat the heat, meet at the track.  See the entry above!

Another suggestion–this is a great weekend for water running!  Running in the pool is a good workout every week, and with the heat, a water run could be the best thing that you could do for your own fitness as well as team building.  If you have never water run before, seek out an expert (Sarah, Victoria and Vibha all know their way around a flotation belt) and find out what you have been missing.  Water running can be your secret path to improvement in your running!
