You doing all right?  Mondays can be tough sometimes, half a year into a pandemic that forces itself into every corner of our lives.  Life can be exhausting.  School is not like anything we expected, cross country is nothing like what we hoped for, if we are being safe then our friends are all on the other side of a screen and when people are not being safe it drives us crazy.  We worry about our educations, our friendships, our running;  we think and we overthink.

So I hope you are OK.  You matter to me, you do.

One of the things that makes me feel better is to take advantage of a day off.  Monday, October 12, Monta Vista did not have school…so rather than just have a normal practice, MVXC went to Crystal Springs cross country course!  We ended up with 14 kids plus Coaches Flatow and Becca at the start line as the sun came up over Belmont.  It was the first time on Crystal for Margaux, Megan, Sophia, Jasmine and Coach Becca, and we all had a great time showing them around.

Crystal is a happy place for MVXC, some of our best days have been there.  A Crystal PR is something to be savored.  A medal from leagues will go in a memory box forever.  We all have photos from a race at Crystal that mean a lot.  So going and visiting a place with all those memories with teammates made this Monday a little special!  And a reminder of the great days on the race course that will come again.

Thanks to everyone who came to run (Andrew, Sophia, Jasmine, Max, Alex, Sylvana, Nerea, Margaux, Megan, Vivian, Pranav, Andrew, Sydney, and Agnes)!  You made my Monday!
