Every journey has a beginning, and MVXC18 started it’s journey with it’s first week of practices from August 6 through August 11, 2018!
We have had practices starting at 7am every morning all week. While we are not sure every athlete loves being out of bed that early, we do all appreciate the opportunity to beat the afternoon heat and run in the cool mornings. It is nice to start acclimating to the workouts in cool temperatures before we start after school training. The week of August 13 through the 18th we will also be meeting at 7am (except for Tuesday the 14th when we will start at 3:30pm to accommodate a freshman orientation day).
All week we have had 40-50 athletes training together, and we have over 70 athletes completely cleared by the school to participate with MVXC. We have run some of the greatest hits already–RR Tracks, Up and Over, Homestead Loop, Phar Lap, Matadors’ Point, Horse-Garrods, Linda Vista Baby Hills, and Matador Ks. Some notable alumni have dropped by for visits–Pearl Law MV12/UC Irvine, Kelly Bishop MV17/UC Santa Barbara, Paru Meyyappan MV17/Carnegie-Mellon.
You may still join MVXC! Cross country is the best! Clearance information is provided by the school and MVXC expectations are also posted.
This looks like a great team!
