When a party is going well, there is no reason to leave, not even when there is a biology text waiting at home to be cracked open. At least that’s the way the Monta Vista Track & Field team feels when you fill a room full of good friends, athletes telling stories, and a huge pile of pizza!
Monta Vista T&F had our year end awards banquet on May 17, and it was a blast. In addition to the aforementioned pizza pile, we enjoyed a lot of good company, awards presentations, two videos and a lot of laughs. While the presentations ended around 8:15 the room did not clear until well after 9…which says something–you can make up your own mind about the meaning!
Thank you to the Fosters, Choudhurys, and Rajamanis and the other volunteer parents who made the banquet a smashing success…it looks like we may be outgrowing the cafeteria, though! Next year, someplace bigger maybe? Like the HP Pavilion? 🙂
Attached is a download of the awards presentation, which includes all the 2012 award winners and medal winners. We will set up a YouTube channel for the team shortly–we have needed this for a while–we need to share that fabulous MV Jump video that Coach Erica put together, and we may as well throw the 2012 Review video up there also. Hmmm…an MV Running channel should be a nice outlet for some creative filmmaking by the team! And don’t forget about the team blog page; Nandini, Michael and Christie are still editing and there are some really good posts this morning you might want to check out.
Don’t forget–the season is complete! This Saturday, Kevin Bishop, Arvind Rao, Jenny Xu, Gokul Parakulam, Surafael Yared, Michael Lu, and Bumpei Maeda travel down to Gilroy to lace up their spikes in the Central Coast Section Semifinals. Good luck, everyone!
